Ugandan Army Capture Rebels' Commander
The overall commander of the rebel Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), Ali Bwambale Mulima alias Rogers Kabanda, has been captured by the Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF).
Military sources said Kabanda and five top commanders of ADF were captured the UPDF in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Also captured were ADF Director of External Intelligence Bihamba Kule, Member of the High Command Ryabala who joined the group in 1994, Commander Junju and two others.
UPDF Army Commander Jeje Odongo declined to confirm the capture of Kabanda, but he told Xinhua Friday that UPDF have captured six ADF leaders so far.
Kabanda has been the official rebel spokesman. He is famous for giving interviews to the local and foreign press.
The arrest comes one month after the surrender of the ADF Chief of Staff mansur Arinaitwe alias Commander Benz. He gave up to the UPDF in the DRC with his six escorts.
