China Wins the Battle Against Porn and Illegal Publication

Remarkable success has been reportedly won for the first-stage work in the fight against porn and illegal publications, basically achieving the pre-set goal.

According to incomplete statistics, by the end of last March, China had taken over 6.05 million illegal books, of which over 94,000 copies are obscene ones and over 44,000 politically illegal publications, 24.39 million illegal discs and tapes, over 180,000 illegal electronic publications and 69,000 publications on "Falun Gong" cult.

In this activity, the National Press and Publication Administration sternly dealt with some publishing houses which illegally published books or discs and tapes on "Fa Lun Gong" cult or others who violated regulations.
