China Has Legal System for Public Security Sector

China has made remarkable achievements in legal construction in the public security sector, and a complete legal system has now been basically established, Minister of Public Security Jia Chunwang said Thursday.

The legal system is facilitating the public security sector in the execution of the law, Jia said at the just-concluded Public Security Legal Work Conference in Beijing.

To date, a total of 49 laws, 82 administrative regulations, 50 rules, and 800 documents concerning public security sector have been enacted. Moreover, the ministry has signed more than 40 agreements regarding international cooperation and extradition with its counterparts in 46 countries.

The legal work of the sector should focus on standardization and resolving the problems of malpractice in law enforcement, Jia noted.
