1.68-Million-Dollar Donation For Taiwan's Earthquake Vicitims

The Red Cross Society of China ( RCSC) announced Wednesday that it remitted 1.686 million U.S. dollars donation to Taiwan's "September 21th" earthquake victims.

This is the sixth relief funds the RCSC has send to the victims. A spokesman of the RCSC said that the previous five relief funds totaled 1.63 million US dollars after the massive quake on September 21, last year.

The spokesman stressed that Chinese people in the mainland are deeply concerned about the quake victims and have generously pledged donations since the disaster.

"It is the duty of both the people on the mainland and the RCSC to help relieve these quake victims from their suffering," the spokesman said.
