Strong Earthquake Rocks TaiwanAn earthquake, measuring 6.1 degrees on the Richter scale, jolted central Taiwan at 11:25 a.m. (Beijing time) Wednesday, according to the China Seismological Bureau in Beijing.The Bureau said the quake hit Nantou in central Taiwan with the epicenter located at 24.0 degrees north latitude, and 121.1 degrees east longitude. The quake was felt in parts of the coastal Fujian Province, East China. The earthquake has caused at least one people dead, 5 injured and over 20 missing by 1 p.m. Wednesday, according to report by China News Service. |
