China Financial Reform Forum Opens in Beijing

The China Financial Industry Reforms International Summit 2000 opened on May 16. Some 300 representatives from the Chinese government, Chinese and international financial institutions and research institutes, and international organizations attended the meeting.

Participants at the three-day meeting will discuss such topics as evolution and change in international financial markets and the implications for China's financial system, China's banking and insurance industry reforms and emerging opportunities for foreign investors.

The international forum is jointly sponsored by the Development Research Center (DRC) under the State Council and the Institute for International Research (IIR).
