Chinese Firms Register More International Domains

Latest statistics show that Chinese companies have registered more than 150,000 international Internet domain sites.

Experts note this indicated that more and more firms are ready for cut-throat international competition.

The total number of domain names of Chinese organizations, including those under .net and .org, have reached more than 180, 000, according to the statistics from China Xinnet, which recently obtained a certificate to provide top domain registration service. Many Chinese firms realized the importance of their domain names, but only registered them under the China domain, ending with ".cn," according to the experts. Sometimes when a company enters the world market they find that their domain name has been stolen by others.

Beijing, Guangdong, and Shanghai are listed as the top three places in the country in the number of registered international domains, according to China Xinnet.

According to statistics, nearly 20 percent of the domains are owned by the computer industry itself, and nearly half of them are registered in the private sector.
