Zion of ROK Donates Computers to Chinese Universities

The Zion Linux System Inc. of the Republic of Korea May 16 donated two Zion 8000 servers to Beijing University and Qinghua University.

The server, or high-end computer that can be used in internet service, is valued at around 100,000 US dollars each. It uses the Linux operating system.

Zion is in Beijing for the on-going Fourth International Conference/Exhibition on High Performance Computing in Asia- Pacific Region.

An official with Zion said at the donation ceremony that cooperation between Zion and Chinese universities and research institutes in Linux-based technology would be reinforced so as to upgrade the competitiveness of both countries in this field.
