Tibet Stresses Eco-environmental Construction
It is reported that Tibet will tighten its cooperation with Chinese and foreign partners to introduce and popularize the use of advanced technology in the construction of ecological environment.
According to officials with the leading group in charge of the plan for eco-environmental construction under the Tibet Autonomous Region. As the main part of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, Tibet has its uniquely high and cold environment at the medium and low altitudes. It is not only the "starter" of the climate in the Eastern Hemisphere, but also the "conditioner" for the climate of China as well as the rest of the world, so it's highly significant to maintain the good ecological environment of Tibet.
In the past decades, the Tibet Autonomous Region has done a lot of work and has made remarkable achievements in maintaining its nice eco-environment. It introduced from abroad more than 50 species of herbage and chose over 20 excellent ones suitable for growth under different environments in Tibet. These forage grasses have played important roles in the construction of grasslands and preventing desertification.
Tibet has reportedly made the plan for the eco-environmental construction from this year through 2050 and will strengthen protection of the ecological environment in accordance with the law.
