China has launched its first website dedicated to children in a bid to provide a carefree virtual wonderland for children.
According to Beijing Daily, kids logging on to the www. hongniba.com.cn (red earth village), will find a number of theme parks. Their webmasters are all nicknamed as figures in fairy tales.
The village offers a chance for children to write stories and create their own webpages. Kids can also read literature suitable for them and play games.
Liu Zhiyou, the website CEO said website for kids should consider security as priority and the "village" is successfully shunned from adult dot-coms. The portal website provides links to dozens of children's websites from other countries. China currently has more than 10 million Internet users and more children are taught to get on-line.
