Shengli Yields Already 700 Million Tons of Crude Oil

Shengli oilfield in Shandong Province is reported to have produced a total of 700 million tons of crude oil in the past 36 years, 1/5 of China's oil output since the founding of the PRC.

Located at the estuary of the Yellow River, Shengli has been exploited and tapped on a large scale since 1964, being second largest only after Daqing in China. During the 9 years from 1987 to 1997, Shengli has consecutively kept an annual output over 30 million tons.

A noticeable fact is that a series of unique technologies have been innovated and introduced during the past years and these have brought amazing results in return. Typical is that an annual amount of 100 million tons of geological oil reserve has been proven over the past 17 years since 1983.

Advanced technologies in oil tapping have considerably helped Shengli as an oil giant of China's oil conglomerates to step into the landscape of oil exploitation in shallow sea. So far, this oil giant has discovered the larger-than-ever shallow sea oil field in China, claiming an annual capability of 2 million tons of crude oil alongside other Chinese oil conglomerates.
