China to Speed up Construction of Specialized Clinics of Chinese Medicine

Reports from Traditional Chinese Medicine Conference held in Zhengzhou say China will continue to speed up construction of specialized clinics of traditional Chinese medicine, and will through years' efforts make most of the traditional hospitals in China to construct one to two clinics featuring key specialties with superiority in traditional medicine.

In recent years, China has set great store by the construction of traditional Chinese medicine clinics. To speed up its construction, the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine has drafted a document entitled "Suggestions on Further Strengthening the Construction of Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinics". By mapping out a plan it tries to foster 4000 specialists and backbone personnel in traditional medicine and to sort out 70 key clinics, draw up 50 matured diagnostic and therapeutic experiences in Chinese traditional medicine. In the meanwhile it will also help develop 10 new and special kinds of medicine with outstanding healing effect which has an applicable and bright future in the market.

At the opening ceremony, She Jing, a new vice minister of the Ministry of Health said that to strengthen the construction of traditional medicine clinics is an important means and primary wok in improving clinical healing and a breakthrough to carry forward the features of traditional medicine. She called on the administrative departments of traditional medicine at all levels to cultivate capable medical personnel, quicken steps in the construction of specialized clinics in traditional Chinese medicine.
