The Bank of China Macao Branch hosted a reception at the Macao Landmark Convention and Exhibition Center Friday to mark its 50th anniversary in Macao.
Liu Mingkang, president of the Bank of China, said at the reception that the Macao Branch has grown from a small banking house to become a comprehensive bank with the greatest financial strength among Macao's commercial banks.
In addition to providing modern and high-quality financial services to clients, the Macao Branch has succeeded in issuing the local currency of pataca and contributed to the financial stability and development of Macao, Liu said.
He noted that over the past decades, the bank has won the trust of local residents.
As Macao has returned to the motherland, the bank will work harder together with people of various social sectors to promote the long-term prosperity of Macao, Liu said.
Edmund Ho Hau Wah, chief executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region, attended the reception.
