Traffic Administration Website Opens in Beijing

The Beijing Municipal Traffic Administration Bureau opened the website: www.bjjtgl.gov.cn Thursday and began handling traffic-related affairs through the Internet.

This is the first such website ever opened in the nation, and experts said the introduction of Internet technology into traffic administration will greatly aid local residents and raise the work efficiency of the traffic administration authorities.

The new website contains detailed information and policies concerning vehicle management, drivers, and other traffic administration matters.

At the site, people may learn the procedures for applying for a driving license and auto license plate. The new website also adds to the transparency of the traffic administration authorities by publicizing detailed rules governing traffic control matters and the phone numbers of the administrative bodies.

The new site also makes it more convenient for local people to register for driver training programs, as they can register electronically.

The traffic administration bureau has also pledged to respond to electronic inquires in a timely fashion.
