Beijing to Build Magnetic Suspension Train in Great Wall
Beijing plans to build magnetic suspension trains at Badaling, the most famous part of the Great Wall, according to sources from the Beijing International Hi-Tech Industries Week 2000, which closed Friday.
With a total investment of 23 million U.S. dollars, this technologically advanced project will be jointly built by Beijing Shareholding Co. Ltd. and Beijing Badaling Tourism Corporation. Designing the project has already started, and the magnetic suspension train is being experimented by its developer. It is expected that in two years a 26-km-long magnetic suspension train line will be operational at Badaling, sending tourists from the parking lot directly to the foot of the Great Wall.
