Murder Suspects Detained

Two murder suspects were detained earlier this week for killing two Taiwan business people in Dongguan City of south China's Guangdong Province on April 28.

They will be tried for homicide and robbery and are to face severe punishment, officials from Guangdong and Dongguan public security bureaus said Thursday.

Widely reported by Taiwan and Hong Kong media, the April 28 murder case was solved by local police in 12 days.

Coming from Changhua County in Taiwan, the victims, Lin Fuyuan and Lin Fuming, who were brothers, were respectively the general manager and vice-general manager of the Changyi Plastic Products Plant at Shatou Village, Chang'an Town in Dongguan.

Police sources said that the suspects admitted that they climbed into the victims' bedrooms on the third floor at three a.m. , hit their heads with iron water pipes and then stole 2,100 yuan and two cellular phones.

Both suspects are transient workers from Hubei Province. One of them, 23-year-old Hu Zhongwang, once worked at the victims' plant as an entrance guard but was fired this March for breaking the plant's rules.

Furious at the victims' refusal to pay his remaining salary, he decided to revenge the bosses, according to the police.

Zheng Dong, director of the Criminal Investigation Bureau under Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department, pledged that they would work harder to do a good job in safeguarding social stability and create a fine investment environment for overseas investors.
