The Party Literature Research Center of the Communist Party of China Central Committee held a conference Friday to mark the 20th anniversary of its founding.
According to sources with the center, over the past two decades it has edited and published 84 types of books and collections of speeches and articles, totaling 35 million Chinese characters, by former Party leaders including Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Liu Shaoqi, Zhu De, Ren Bishi, Deng Xiaoping, and Chen Yun.
The center has also edited and published collections of important Party literature since the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC) in 1949, and significant Party literature since the late 1970s, totaling 19.5 million Chinese characters.
Other books published by the center include picture albums, biographies, and histories of Party leaders. Moreover, the center has also cooperated with other departments to issue 15 documentary films and computer discs on the life of Party leaders and the history of the PRC.
