East China Province to Hold Trade Fair

The 2000 Zhejiang Investment and Trade Fair is scheduled for June 10 in Ningbo, a booming coastal city in east China's Zhejiang Province.

More than 2,000 projects, including 110 key ones, will be announced for domestic and overseas cooperation and investment. A source with the fair's organizing committee said that these projects mainly involve such areas as infrastructure, machinery, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, textiles, and services.

The organizing committee expects about 200 contracts involving a total overseas investment of 800 million US dollars to be signed at the fair.

Exhibitions of products by overseas-funded enterprises in China 's coastal regions and information technology products, as well as a series of international forums on investment and trade will be staged during the fair.

A great number of multinational corporations, including IBM, Microsoft, and Lucent, have already registered to participate in the fair.
