China Opens Red Website Commemorating Marx

A local bookstore in Beijing recently set up the website: http://www.red-world.com to mark the 180th anniversary of the birth of Karl Marx and the 150th anniversary of the publication of The Communist Manifesto.

The website is composed of seventeen parts, focusing on Chinese history, 100 patriotic education bases across the country, stories about the Chinese Worker's and Peasant's Red Army, and Marxist masterpieces including The Communist Manifesto and Capital.

Fan Qiangming, founder of the website and manager of the bookstore said the site is aimed at popularizing Marxism and encouraging innovation.

Karl Marx, a founder of the Communist movement, was born on May 5, 1818 in Germany and died on March 14, 1883.
