Largest Rare Stone Trade Center Established

China's largest rare stone trade center has formed in Linqu, a mountainous county in east China's Shandong Province.

Various rare stones both from China and foreign countries are traded in the 40,000-sq-m center.

Last year total turnover of the trade center reached 250 million yuan (about 30.12 million U.S. dollars), ranking first in all rare stone trade centers in the country.

An increasing number of Chinese have been keen on collecting rare natural stones in recent years as living standards improved rapidly.

Rare stone markets have already been set up in Guangdong, Henan and Liaoning provinces as well as in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

A rare stone exhibition held in the city of Luoyang in Henan this year attracted more than 100,000 visitors and some 300 stone- collectors from 28 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities throughout China.
