Cross-Strait Trade Surged 31.3% in First Quarter

According to the figures released by the Customs General Administration on May 9, the total trade volume between the mainland and Taiwan in the first quarter reached US$6.134 billion, up 31.3% over the same period of last year. Of the total, the exports to Taiwan amounted to US$1.044 billion, up 32.2% while the import US$5.089 billion, up 31.2%.

Taiwan is now ranking seventh on the list of China's largest trade partners. The top ten trade partners of China are: Japan, US, EU, Hong Kong, Aseans, South Korea, Taiwan, Australia, Canada, and Russia.
