Yunnan has a 4,000-kilometer-long border with Myanmar, Viet Nam and Laos. The number of visitors to border areas increased in the first week of May, and some people hid heroin in paper boxes, the soles of shoes, and private parts of the body. A raid on May 3 in the Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture resulted in confiscation of 36,000 grams of opium.
