West Runway of Capital Airport Works Well
The west runway of Beijing Capital Airport has been performing well after its being put into use again 10 days ago following a 55 days reconstruction.
Experts said that the new runway has reached the internationally advanced level.
The airport started the runway rebuilding on March 9th. During the period, some domestic flights and two international flights leaving between 8:00 am and 18:00 were canceled.
Meanwhile, an aviation-aid flash lighting system, with a total investment of 1.7 million yuan, is being installed and is expected to be completed by June 11.
The system is believed to be of help to airplanes' take-off and landing on the new west runway, especially in bad weather conditions.
