China's Customs Revenue Hits New High in First Quarter

China's customs revenue in the first quarter reached 64 billion yuan, up 27.5 percent over the same period last year.

Statistics indicate that in April, customs revenue jumped 27.7 percent over the same month last year to 17.4 billion yuan. Customs officials attribute the surge mainly to growing imports and the country's crack-down on smuggling in the first quarter.
