"General History of CPC" Published

The five-volume "General History of the Communist Party of China," which was published recently by the Hunan Education Publishing House, depicts the historical process of combining Marxism with China's reality, several China's historians on May 9.

At a symposium held on May 9 at Beijing University, participants said that the 304-million-word work vividly reflects the history of the Communist Party of China during the 1921-1949 period.

The book records the struggles in the history of the CPC in an all-round way. It not only records the activities of the CPC Central Committee and its leaders, but also that of the CPC local organizations, non-Communist parties and people without party affiliations.

"The General History of the Communist Party of China" stresses not only the political and military struggles led by the Party, but also enriches the weak areas in the research of the CPC history. It also improves the expositions on the Party building and its lessons and the Party's foreign policies and international strategies, and its work on ethnic groups and overseas Chinese affairs.

The five-volume book is regarded as "one of the elite CPC historical works published in recent years."
