A keen interest has been shown by many private-owned enterprises in east China in participating in West Development Fair held in Shanghai on May 9.
Co-sponsored by the State Economic & Trade Commission (SETC) and other economic and trade departments in Shanghai, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Guangdong, Anhui, Fujian, West Development Fair has attracted many private enterprises in east China and enterprises from China's west. Six delegations representing economic and trade departments from Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia, Qinghai, Xinjiang have brought with them more than 2000 project items to the fair. With these six delegations at the fair are also over 200 representatives from enterprises in Shanghai, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Anhui, Guangdong, Fujian, Ningbo, Xiamen and Shenzhen.
Officials from the SETC briefed the representatives with a speech at the fair on the plans and measures guiding west development. Officials from five provinces of west China introduced their regional advantages, investment environment, business items, preferential policies, measures to be adopted and the development situation of private enterprises. Representatives from Shanshan Group, Shuaikang Group, Shanghai Aijiang Group, Shanghai Fuxing Hi-tech Group and Wuxi Hongdou Group jointly initiated and passed a Private Enterprises Manifesto, expressing their zeal and desire to develop the West.
