The Beijing Municipal Government today has invited 17 prestigious Chinese and foreign experts to be advisers to the Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park, known as China's Silicon Valley, to quicken the park's development.
They include Song Jian, president of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Xu Guanhua, Chinese vice-minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Irving T. Ho, Chairman of the U.S. EIC company, and Prof. Chia-Wei Woo, president of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
Beijing Mayor Liu Qi said at the ceremony that to develop Zhongguancun is one of the most important tasks for the capital in the new century, adding that by inviting expert advisers, Beijing will be more capable of following the world's economic, scientific and technological developments.
