Second Group of Chinese High-School Students to Visit Japan

The Japanese embassy gave a reception for 99 Chinese high-school students who are to visit Japan on a students exchange program between China and Japan.

The 99 high-school students, from Beijing, Shanghai, Jilin, Guangxi, Gansu, Yunnan and Guizhou, are the second such group invited by the Japan-China Friendship Association to visit Japan since August last year.

During their nine-day trip, starting Tuesday, the high-school students will visit Tokyo, Yokohama, Kyoto and Osaka and other cities, mix with local students, go sight-seeing, and visit enterprises and high-tech facilities.

The students exchange program between the two countries, established during President Jiang Zemin's Japanese trip in November 1998, will involve some 15,000 students from both countries over a five-year period. Japan-China Friendship Association invites 100 Chinese students annually to tour Japan.
