With the landing on Jiangbei International Airport by the first direct flight from Munich of Germany to Chongqing of China, the first international airline leading from China's western region directly to Europe was opened, thus making Chongqing the third Chinese city following Beijing, Shanghai, to have opened air traffic with Germany.
There is one scheduled flight on this airline each week and 26 flights are expected from May to this October. It's reported that this airline has a good market in Germany and half of the planned 5,000 seats have been booked.
