Sino-Portuguese Ties Enter New Era: Portuguese President
Bilateral relations between Portugal and China have entered a new era of development, Portuguese President Jorge Sampaio said Monday.
Macao's return to China started a new chapter in the relations, Sampaio said when receiving a letter of credence from new Chinese Ambassador to Portugal Lu Boyuan.
The development of bilateral relations demands further cooperation and exchange in many fields, Sampaio added. Recalling his visit to China and Chinese President Jiang Zemin's visit to Portugal, both last year, he said, President Jiang has given him deep impressions and happy memories.
