Beijing Party Chief Meets Former Foreign Leaders

Beijing Party chief Jia Qinglin, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee, met with former foreign leaders attending the on-going Beijing International Hi-Tech Industries Week.

Jia extended a warm welcome to these distinguished guests, including former President Carlos Saul Menem of Argentina, former Japanese Prime Minister Kaifu Toshikt, and former Spanish Prime Minister Felipe Gonzalez Marquez.

Jia lauded them as outstanding statesmen and social activists, and old friends of the Chinese people. He expressed appreciation of their contribution to the development of relations between China and their respective countries and also voiced the hope that their attendance will promote cooperation between Beijing and their respective countries.
