Chinese, Angolan Defense Ministers Hold TalksChinese Defense Minister Chi Haotian said Monday during a meeting with Angolan Defense Minister Kundy Payama that the Chinese government values the state and army relations of friendly cooperation with Angola, and is willing to promote Sino-Angolan friendship to a new level.Chi, also vice chairman of the Central Military Commission and a state councilor, said that there are friendly relations among the governments, peoples, and armies of China and Angola, and that cooperation between the two countries in the political, economic and military arenas has been fruitful. He expressed appreciation for the Angolan government's efforts to safeguard national reconciliation, develop the national economy, improve the lives of the people, and maintain regional peace and stability. Chi also expressed gratitude for Angola's support of China on the issues of Taiwan and human rights. Payama said that Angola will strengthen its cooperative relations with China, and expressed the belief that his China tour will promote exchange and cooperation between the two military forces.
