State Council Appoints Senior Officials

China's State Council recently made a number of appointments and removals of senior government officials.

Li Rongrong and Jiang Qiangui were appointed vice ministers in charge of the State Economic and Trade Commission replacing Chen Bangzhu and Zheng Silin.

Wang Zhan was appointed vice minister of education replacing Zhang Tianbao.

Ma Songde and Cheng Jinpei were appointed vice ministers of science and technology replacing Hui Yongzheng and Han Deqian. Zhang Chunjiang was appointed vice minister of information industry.

Jing Zhengshu and Zhai Haohui were appointed vice ministers of water resources replacing Zhang Chunyuan and Zhu Dengquan. Zhang Baowen was appointed vice minister of agriculture replacing Lu Ming.

Yu Jing was appointed vice minister of health replacing Cao Yonggui.

Appointments and removals were also made in several other government departments and administrations.
