China and Sweden Hold Academic Forum

The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and Stockholm University presented a forum in Beijing on May 8 featuring economic and educational cooperation and development between China and Europe.

At the inaugural ceremony of the forum, Wang Luolin, vice president of CASS, said that his academy and the Swedish university have carried out smooth cooperation and exchange. Since the signing of a bilateral agreement on academic exchanges, scholars from the two organizations have frequently visited each other.

Wang expressed the hope that these exchanges will achieve further success.

Thomas Ostros, Swedish minister of education and science, spoke of the economic achievements and educational opportunities in his country, pledging to push forward the bilateral relationship in the fields of science and education.

Some 50 Swedish scholars and their Chinese counterparts participated in the one-day forum.
