"It's not special," Bush said. "It's a normal trade status we give to other countries." The U.S. House of Representatives is expected to vote on a bill to grant PNTR to China in the week of May 22. The Senate is expected to follow suit in June. The Clinton administration, Republican leaders and business groups have been lobbying intensely for support of PNTR with China. |
