Photo Album Published on Handover of Macao
A photo album featuring Macao's handover has been published and a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Monday to mark its issuance.
Entitled "The Historic Moment: Macao Handover," the album contains more than 600 photos depicting the major historic events in 48 hours beginning from 5:00 p.m. on December 19.
In the meantime, an exhibition of more than 80 photos selected from the album was launched at the Macao Landmark Conference and Exhibition Center and it will last till May 11.
Publication of the album was sponsored by the Macao Chinese Culture and Arts Association and the Ming Pao Publications Limited in Hong Kong. The latter had published a similar album when Hong Kong returned to the motherland nearly three years ago.
The Chinese and Portuguese governments had held a handover ceremony at midnight on December 19 last year to mark Macao's power transfer from Portugal to China. The Macao Special Administrative Region was founded right after the handover ceremony.
