China Makes Key Nuclear Power Equipment on Its Own
Eight sets in 4 categories of key equipment are involved for building Guangdong Lingao nuclear power station reactor, China's first 10 million kw nuclear power station going to be built. Lately completed in Orient Boiler Group in Sichuan Province, the equipment has its manufacturing quality and time limit up to the demand of a French company, general contractor of Lingao nuclear power station.
Experts say it represents a great breakthrough made in manufacturing key equipment for building a 10 million kw nuclear power station in China.
Orient Boiler Group, set up in Zigong, Sichuan Province in the 1960s, is a backbone state-owned enterprise in producing thermal power installations. Wen Bingyou, general manager of the company said that after acquiring the nuclear power station's contract through bidding the company has invested more than 100 million yuan to introduce advanced technology and equipment to form an international advanced producing capacity.
