Holiday Tourism May Bring 100 Million Yuan to Yunnan Daily

This week's seven-day spring holiday has brought over 100 million yuan to southwest China's Yunnan Province daily, an official of the provincial tourism bureau reported Thursday.

Every day this week, over 100,000 tourists have streamed into scenic spots in the province, like Xishuangbanna, Dali, Lijiang and Diqing. Tourism departments predict that Yunnan will see more than a million tourists in the week-long vacation period.

The Yunnan Airlines added over 200 flights between April 28 and May 8, and the Kunming Railway Bureau put another 137 special trains for the occasion.

The China Kunming International Tourism Festival, which opened on April 10, reached its peak during the May holiday.

Yunnan received 3.463 million tourists from April 10-20, bringing 947 million yuan revenue to the province, tourism figures show.
