Chinese Journalist Killed in Car Crash in Tibet

A Chinese journalist was killed on April 30 in a car accident 200 km north of Lhasa, capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region.

Xiong Bo, 26, news director of website China.com, and another passenger had left Lhasa and were heading north to the Tanggula Range when their jeep crashed head-on into a truck, killing them instantly.

Xiong was in Lhasa reporting on the Hope Project 2000--Tibet, which kicked off on April 15 in the city of Kunming, capital of Yunnan Province.

The other passenger was a Hong Kong resident.
