Commission Set up to Promote E-Business

The International Commerce Commission (ICC) China set up the ICC Electronic Commerce Commission in Beijing recently in a bid to promote E-business in China.

According to the latest issue of Beijing Review, the commission is expected to help most Chinese enterprises make full use of the opportunities brought about by E-business.

The commission will make research and suggestion on the law, policy, operation rules, infrastructure facilities and publicity related to the overall development of E-business in China, promote international practice and application of E-business, formulate rules and standards for E-business operation.

It also organizes members to participate in the discussion and promulgation of related policies and regulations by the ICC and related international organizations, and make follow-up reports to government departments, legislative organs and international organizations on the prevailing views and stance related to law, regulations and administration in the E-business field.

Now the commission is mainly made up of traditional enterprises such as banks, industrial enterprises and trading companies, and more enterprises engaged in E-business are expected to join in along with the development of the business in future.
