The largest metropolitan business center of China turned out 14.45 billion yuan-worth of information products in the first quarter of this year, up 28.6 percent on an annual basis.
The total amount of profits reached 1.31 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year rise of 29.9 percent.
Local sources said that the output of integrated circuits, semiconductor parts and components, telecommunications equipment and electronic products have all increased.
The output of mobile phones soared three times to 1.27 million sets in the three-month period, while that fax machines reached 47, 400 sets, up 15.1 percent on a yearly basis.
