Hong Kong Unveils New Tourism Logo

A new tourism logo containing fresh signature of "City of Life" designed to promote the vigorous image of Hong Kong was unveiled in Hong Kong on April 30.

Launched by the Hong Kong Tourist Association (HKTA), the logo is formed by a combination of "Hong Kong" in both English and Chinese and a brush stroke. "City of Life," the creative essence of the logo, is well presented through the signature's form, typeface, typographic arrangement and color.

"Developing this credible new profile and positioning of Hong Kong as Asia's top international city is a challenge," said Amy Chan, executive director of HKTA.

The future success of the City of Life campaign will be dependent on alliance and product development, Chan stressed, adding that the campaign has been the anchor for different promotions launched both in Hong Kong and in cities around the world.

Referring to the new "City of Life" signature, she said, "We have now moved the concept forward to further encompass our history and culture. This is our new identity and I believe it will be a successful portrayal of Hong Kong."
