Xiamen City Reports High Growth in Foreign Trade

Xiamen, a booming city in east China' s Fujian Province and one of the country's special economic zones, generated more than 2.14 billion U.S. dollars in foreign trade for the first quarter of this year, up 32.3 percent from the same period last year.

The volume included 1.279 billion U.S. dollars in exports, a surge of 50.4 percent, and 864 million U.S. dollars in imports, an increase of 12.3 percent.

Sales of Xiamen commodities in all major overseas markets, such as Asia, North America, and Europe, have increased.
