Science Lovers Flock to New Exhibition HallIn the China Science and Technology Museum, a robotic orchestra played. The conductor, also a robot, chatted with visitors after the orchestra's performance ended."Amazing! It is much more interesting than what is taught simply from books in the classroom," said Xue Jiao, a student from Beijing No 65 School. Over the weekend, Beijing's China Science and Technology Museum opened its new exhibition hall, and the new exhibits included the robotic orchestra. "With stronger features, the new hall will greatly enhance the country's science education," said Zhou Guangzhao, chairman of the China Science and Technology Association. The new four-storey hall - which covers 22,000 square meters, is the centerpiece of the State museum. It has more than 300 new exhibits, covering such areas as aviation, astronomy, information technology, and life and environmental sciences, Zhou said. Zhou added that there are another 250 items on display that focus on China's ancient scientific and technological preeminence. Thousands of people, including senior officials, scientific researchers and students, flocked to the new exhibit hall. Visitors can use dozens of computers that provide information on the exhibits, said Pei Yuanyuan, a guide of the museum. The new hall also uses modern cinematic and video technology, photoelectric technology and virtual reality technology.
