Vice Premier Qian Meets Senior African Diplomats

Chinese Vice Premier Qian Qichen met with a delegation of senior African diplomats from 20 French-speaking African countries.

Qian said that China is willing to develop friendship and relations of cooperation with African countries. More tangible results are expected to be achieved in the upcoming China-Africa ministerial meeting to be held in Beijing in October, he said.

He also briefed the guests on China's policy towards Africa.

The African diplomats agreed with Qian and said that they support China in playing its important role in the international arena. They hope to further the relations between Africa and China.

The visitors are here as guests of the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs.
