"Hundred Doctoral Scholars from Overseas Bound for the West Activity" LaunchedAs reported on April 29, following the activity of "Hundred Doctors Going to the West", another such activity of "Hundred Doctoral Scholars from Overseas Bound for the West" was again launched.Now the first batch of 20 young doctors from overseas have come to the ancient city of Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, the bridgehead of China's great west for a four-day inspection tour, seeking for cooperation projects. The "Hundred Overseas Doctors West-bounding Activity" was as reported co-sponsored by the Communist Youth League of Shaanxi Provincial Committee and Shaanxi Youth Federation. The city of Xian is the first stage for this west-bounding activity and more activities of suchlike will follow up in the future. Yan Weijia, an organizer of the activity, said that these doctors would go to Xi'an, Baoji, Yangling and Datang Telecom, Jinhua Group, Haixing Technology and some such 10 enterprises and companies to make an inspection tour. Their attention will be mainly focused on metal and non-metallic material, information communication, software development, agricultural technology and environmental protection. Last January, the Communist Youth League and All-China Youth Federation organized the activity "Hundred Doctors Going to the West", in which 59 young doctors inspected some enterprises in the west with 33 intentional items for cooperation reached, and set up China Yangling Overseas Chinese High-tech Agricultural Virtual Park. The Hundred Doctoral Scholars from Overseas Bound for the West" activity is a part and continuation of the aforesaid activity "Hundreds Doctors Going to the West".
