Hong Kong Hosts Seminar on APEC Tourism Development
The seminar on tourism development of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) was held in Hong Kong on April 29. Representatives from 21 countries and regions exchanged views on the topic of "New Rules for New Century".
At the same time, the 16th tourism working group conference also took place in Hong Kong.
The seminar focused on drawing up rules and regulations for APEC tourist business. The rules will contain the following four main parts: continuing the management of the achievements and influence of tourism, expediting the flow of tourists and boosting the development of tourist industry, promoting investment in tourism as well as deepening understanding of tourism business and grasping more tourism information. The rules give a description of the development direction of tourism in the next 10 years.
It is reported that the first Ministerial Conference on APEC Tourist Business to be held in South Korea this July will examine and discuss the draft.
