CFHRD Backs Shiro to Disclose OutragesChina Foundation for Human Rights Development Friday called a meeting in Beijing voicing its support to former Japanese "imperial" soldier, Azuma Shiro, in his just fight to disclose outrages committed by Japanese aggressor forces in China during World War II at UN Human Rights Commission's September Conference in Geneva.Previously, 88-year-old Shiro clearly stated that he has been ready to go to the International Court in Hague and turn up at UN Human Rights Commission in Geneva this September to tell about outrageous Japanese aggressor forces' inhuman brutalities committed in China. His just stand and action have evoked wide response in China. Among those present at Friday's meeting are included former Chinese foreign minister Huang Hua, honorary Director of China Foundation for Human Rights Development. On behalf of China Foundation, he issued a statement, declaring his firm support to Shiro's right action. The statement says the Japanese Supreme Court's decisions and verdicts and all Japanese rightist wingers' attempt to erase the undeniable history of Japan's outrageous invasion into China during the World War II will go to no avail. Japan's rightist wingers have by their insane antics demonstrated their utter savagery in disregard of historical facts, human rights and the just cause of peace, the statement points out. Huang Hua further said at the meeting that since normalization of Sino-Japanese diplomatic ties, China has always hoped the Japanese government take the path of peace and development, adopt a right attitude and properly treat its past aggression against China. This, he stresses, is the touchstone of Japan's sincerity in developing right political relationship with China. The Japanese government and farsighted politicians should adhere to principles set forth in past joint statements and peace treaty signed with China and take measures to stop those anti-China activities as soon as possible, he added. Huang also called on the UN Human Rights Commission to open its door to Shiro and let him tell truths erased by Japanese rightist wingers to the world public so that UN Charter and the inviolability of human rights are protected. |
