Yang Double Lights Eintracht's Hope to Escape Downgrade

Chinese striker Yang Chen scored twice to give Eintracht Frankfurt to a 4-0 victory over VfL Wolfsburg on Friday which made his club a possible escape from relegation to the German second division.

A header by Bachirou Salou in the eighth minute and a shot from inside the box by Maro Gebhardt eight minutes later gave Eintracht a 2-0 lead at halftime. Yang then scored in the 76th and 79th minutes to complete the win.

Eintracht moved up two places to 13th in the 18-team first division table with two games left.

The Frankfurt club are now placed to remain in the top flight despite having two points deducted by the German Football Federation for financial irregularities. Wolfsburg remain sixth and are still dreaming of a place in Europe next season. Hertha Berlin had a goalless draw at home to SC Freiburg in the other match played on Friday.

Dominant Hertha were denied a goal by Freiburg goalkeeper Richard Golz.
