Hong Kong Holds IT Industry Cooperation Forum

The two-day Information Technology (IT) Industry Cooperation Forum, sponsored by China Science and Technology Association and Jing Guang Academic Exchange Center, was opened in Hong Kong Conference Exhibition Center on April 28.

In recent years, the IT industry of both the hinterland and Hong Kong has developed at a high speed with respective advantages, forming a fairly good foundation for cooperation. The forum focuses on the introduction of the current IT situation, policy, development direction and market of the two sides as well as the discussion on the prospects and business opportunities for the two sides' IT industry after China's projected entry into the WTO.

Some 400 representatives attended the forum, quite a few of them made speeches. The themes of the speeches include:: the influence of IT industry on society, the present state and strategy of the study and development of China's Information technology, Hong Kong's IT development, policy and prospects, opportunities and challenges to China's IT industry after its prospective accession to the WTO, mutual complementation and business opportunities for the IT industry of the hinterland and Hong Kong, the fund-raising channels of IT enterprises of Hong Kong GEM, advantages and the preview of the technology and market of China's IT industry.
